Sweaters, hoodies, pullovers? What is the difference?

Especially with regard to upcoming sports activities, the distinction is helpful. Therefore, in the following we will give you a little insight into the world of sports sweaters, which enjoys great popularity across all age groups. Colloquially, the classic pullover is often referred to as a sweatshirt. A sweatshirt has no additional fashionable details such as buttons, eyelets or zippers. Thus, the sweater is clearly one of the simpler variants in the closet. Basically, sweaters can be made from all kinds of fabrics. For example, made of cotton, wool blend, fleece, silk or virgin wool. Opposite to this are the hoodies or as they are also called hooded sweaters. The translation makes it relatively easy to infer their difference. Hoodies have a hood added to them, sweatshirts do not have one. A hoodie is equipped with additional features such as cords to pull the hood tighter. A classic identifying feature continues to be the "kangaroo pockets" on the front of the sweatshirt. In them, the hands can be warmed up in a short time. A hoodie with a zipper is also called a zipper hoodie and can be worn open for a change. Features of fleece sweaters?
Fleece jackets and sweaters are first and foremost very comfortable to wear. They are super light, quick drying, warming, elastic and the material feels extremely soft on the skin. This functionality makes jackets and sweaters made of fleece a popular companion for outdoor activities. But also in everyday life fleece sweaters can be worn as a fashionable addition. We offer the fleece material in different thicknesses. The motto here: the thicker, the warmer. Logical, because the more fleece material is present, the more can be warmed and ultimately warm the wearer.
Properties of wool sweaters?
Especially the merino wool scores with practical properties and has become widely accepted in the outdoor world. The fact that merino sweatshirts can easily be worn for several days at a stretch without unpleasant odor makes this material a must-have in the closet. The wool of merino sheep regulates the temperature balance and dries relatively quickly. Wool and blends of wool/merino wool with synthetic fibers have similar functional characteristics. Features of cotton sweaters?
Cotton and cotton blend fabric is main component for most casual sweatshirts. Advantage of cotton sweaters is that they are very comfortable and can be easily combined with jeans.
Hoodie as a base, mid or outer layer?
Sweaters can be worn as a base, mid or outer layer. Baselayers are especially suitable if they are relatively thin and can be worn underneath without any problems and do not restrict the freedom of movement. Ski sweaters in particular fall into this category. A thicker hoodie can easily be worn over it. In spring, summer and fall, this can be the last layer and the hoodie acts as an outer layer. During the colder season, even over the sweatshirt should still be pulled an insulating jacket. In this case, the hoodie is used as a mid-layer.
