- Eco Dry: Polyfluorinated and perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) make outdoor equipment resistant to oil, grease, and water. Once released into the environment, however, the chemicals only degrade very slowly, posing a long-term environmental problem.
With the Eco Dry finishing technology, EDELRID has succeeded in developing a process that is almost as good as high-performance PFCs. Their three-dimensional kernmantel construction makes the treatment of ropes extremely complex, especially as the finishing process must never pose risks to a climbing rope’s safety and functionality. The Eco Dry process meets all of these requirements and is 100% free from PFCs.
- Thermo Shield: Thermo Shield is the basic treatment that EDELRID applies to all ropes to ensure they have the renowned EDELRID suppleness. The treatment involves a thermal process that perfectly aligns the core and sheath yarns. A special heat treatment relaxes then shrinks the rope’s fibers.
This harmonizes the gliding characteristics of the yarns inside the rope, making it supple and compact. The result is the creation of ropes that will neither shrink retrospectively nor quickly become stiff.

For bulky goods we calculate the actual costs as surcharge fee for each product. Bulky goods can be recognized by an additional labeling in the product selection, indicating a shipping rate in the prefix, which will be added as an additional charge for the product in the cart. You never pay more than indicated in your shopping cart. Partial delivery causes no additional costs within EU countries and Switzerland; please enter a phone number where you are reachable during the day.
Orders are shipped only when all previous deliveries already have been paid.
