Bikini tops
- Triangle bikinis: Triangle bikinis are tops in the shape of a triangle. These are tied at the back of the neck. Frequently, these bikinis are offered in different variants, with underwire or as a push-up version. Both triangle tops do not create annoying stripes on the shoulders.
- Bandeau bikinis: Bandeaus are tops made of a wide piece of fabric over the chest. They usually have a silicone band on the inside to keep them from moving around.
- Bustier bikinis: The bustier is high cut and resembles a tank or crop top. The halter bikini is tied at the neck or regulated on adjustable straps. It covers the entire chest and, depending on the model and design, also the cleavage.
- Underwired bikinis: The underwire bikini is reinforced with an underwire at the bottom of the top. This underwire provides extra support due to the sturdy shoulder straps. Therefore, underwire bikinis are especially popular with women with larger breasts.
- Tankinis: A tankini is a slightly different type of top, as it offers the most fabric. Tankinis are shaped like a tank top, with material covering the stomach and lower back.
- Halterneck bikinis: A halter bikini does not have shoulder straps. The straps are brought together at the nape of the neck. The top is composed of two triangular pieces of fabric connected by strings.
Bikini bottoms
- Classic bikini bottoms: With traditional bikini bottoms, the pants sit high on the stomach and low on the hips. The butt is covered in this case. In addition, the sides can be tied with ribbons.
- Thong pants: Thong pants also exist in the world of bikinis. The pants are made of a thin strip of fabric and do not cover too much of the buttocks.
- Panties: Panties are like ordinary hot pants that are often worn by women during the summer. These pants go over the butt and usually fit very tightly. Alternatively, there are versions which sit loosely on the hips.
Swimsuits
- Monokinis: The monokini represents a variation between a swimsuit and a bikini. In principle, it is a one-piece, but it is cut so wide in the abdominal area that a lot of skin is shown - often the connection between the upper and lower parts of the fabric is made only by a very thin strip of fabric.
Swim trunks
- Short cut swim trunks: Most men these days reach for a pair of swim trunks with short legs. This model resembles a cycling shorts and is not completely tight to the body. These models have short leg extensions and sit relatively loose. You show more skin than in long swim trunks.
- Long cut swim trunks: The long swim trunks should not be forgotten. The colorful patterned swim shorts are among the typical "surf wear" and can be worn with almost any figure. These swim trunks have a loose fit and go down to the knee. The taller you are, the longer the shorts should be. With these swim trunks, men are guaranteed to be ahead of the game in terms of fashion, because these swim trunks are always suitable for casual styling on the beach. Swimming, a volleyball match, boating or a visit to the beach restaurant is thus nothing in the way.
- Swim trunks slip: A classic in swimming - everyone knows this type of swim trunks. A tight-fitting, sporty skimpy pant. Swimmers in particular benefit from this model. Unlike wide, loose-fitting swim trunks, the fabric here does not completely soak up the water. This means that seat corrections do not have to be made constantly.
- Swim panties: Swim panties are tightly cut and body-hugging swim trunks. This variant has small leg attachments that cover significantly more body area than a swim slip. Swim panties are especially suitable for athletic swimming sessions or jumping from the diving board, because here, unlike the loosely cut swim trunks, nothing slips.
What should you consider when buying?
When buying swimwear, you need to pay attention to numerous criteria. You should be aware of the purpose for which it will be used. For leisure or for sports? It is important to find out which cut suits your body shape best. An important factor is also the design. In the case of clothing for water sports, this is secondary, but still not to be neglected. With swimwear for leisure, the design criterion gets more and more prominent. The more comfortable you feel, the more you will like to wear it. In addition, swimwear should fit perfectly and keep everything nicely covered, even when jumping into cool waters or playing beach volleyball. An additional plus get swimwear with elastic and individually adjustable cuffs. Thus, depending on personal preference, taste and physique, the swimwear can be adjusted. When choosing materials, beachwear and swimwear should focus on quick-drying properties and materials that are insensitive to sweat, salt water and sunscreen.
How should swimwear be washed?
Many people don't know how swimwear is washed! We clarify. Basically, swimwear should be washed gently. Especially functional swimwear can be damaged by more than 30 degrees. The dryer should be avoided in any case. Also, you should not put the garments to dry on the heater or in the blazing sun. Precise information is usually given on the label of the clothing.
