The Trail Runner Free 2 by SILVA is a comfortable and lightweight headlamp for everyone who loves running.
The headlamp's features and light beam are optimized for a runner’s needs. The Trail Runner Free 2 by SILVA is the most basic model of the manufacturer's headlamp series. It is your perfect choice if you don’t run on a daily basis, but still value long burn time. The lamp is powered by 3 AAA batteries, but is also compatible with the rechargeable 1.25 Hybrid Battery Pack by SILVA, thanks to its versatile hybrid battery case (both not included in delivery).
SILVA Free Technology
All Trail Runner Free lamps by SILVA have the power cord integrated into the headband. This system is called SILVA Free Technology and makes for a comfortable headlamp experience without distracting cords or tangled wires - no hassle, just free the energy!
Hybrid battery case and long-distance battery
The hybrid battery case has grip friendly surfaces and an integrated red rear safety light for added visibility. It can be used with either AAA batteries or the rechargeable Hybrid Battery Pack by SILVA (both not included). This means you have the freedom to upgrade your headlamp whenever you feel like complementing it with a rechargeable power source.
Customized light distribution
With the second generation of the Trail Runner Free series by SILVA, cooling was optimized by adding a more powerful cooler that lets the lamp produce up to 550 lumen (depending on battery type), while keeping its level of comfort and low weight. The needs of ultra runners were an important part of the design process and thus the lamp series is made for running in every aspect. All three headlamps of the series feature SILVA Intelligent Light technology. This means you get a headlamp with a double light beam, plus light settings that are perfect for running. A unique combination of a long-reach spotlight and a close-range flood-light results in less head movement, better control, improved balance, less fatigue and higher speed.
Comfort In every detail
Despite SILVA's focus on technological breakthroughs, the importance of weight optimization wasn't neglected. Every part of the headlamp was compressed, so the unit only weighs 60 g without batteries, only approx. 113 g with a rechargebale battery and around 122 g when using AAA batteries. The headlamp is perfectly balanced, with smooth adjustments and a flat, soft textile extension cord that doesn’t tangle. The headband is soft yet firm enough, with a silicone string on the inside to stay in place. The battery can be carried comfortably on the headband or be kept warm in your pocket by using the included extension cord, to save battery life .
